A hidden gem nestled in the coastal town of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and founded in 1101, this unique Grade 1 listed landmark building boasts architectural and historic charm, having been lovingly restored from an 11th Century Priory.  Our breathtaking event space features vaulted ceilings, beautiful beams and exposed Normandy stone arches, shared with Norwich Cathedral.  This magical backdrop offers a blank canvas for your wedding day, so that you can customise the space to suit your own unique vision and thus create the wedding of your dreams at The Priory 1101.  Come and discover the beauty and history of this exceptional venue.

Lovely venue for a christening in close proximity to The Minster. From booking to the actual day was a breeze. Paulina very helpful and accommodating. Nothing seemed too much trouble and would highly recommend this as a venue for a small gathering ( we had 40), or for something larger. Everything was spotless. Bar was also arranged on our behalf. The Noble Hall is an exceptional setting that exudes elegance and grandeur.   Capable of hosting up to 100 seated guests, with an additional 50 for evening receptions, its stunning ornate features imbue the space with a unique character and charm that is sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests.  Adjacent to the hall is The Buttery, which is perfect for ceremonies or welcome drinks and provides added convenience and flexibility to your event. The Refectory hosts our fully licensed bar and remember, the venue is exclusively yours to enjoy your celebration!

Whether you’re hosting a wedding, christening, anniversary, wake, conference, or exhibition, award gala dinner, charity event, themed night or company party, our venue is sure to enchant your guests.

We also provide a selection of offices for training days, hot-desking, daily hire or long term let.

The Priory 1101 services available onsite include:

  • ‘The Noble Hall’ – Holds up to 100 guests seated and a further 50+ for evening guests. The Noble Hall offers a versatile space for smaller gatherings, as well as a larger event. Tables, chairs & chair covers, and all linen is supplied.
  • ‘The Buttery’ – An adjoining room for Ceremonies, catering or entertainment.
  • ‘Newlyweds Nest’ – Couples ‘VIP’ room with a beautiful view, where you can ‘spy’ on your guests from up above!
  • Fully licenced bar – Packages available for ‘welcome drinks’ and toasts.
  • Decor hire – The Rustic & Classic range, a choice of LED backdrops, 4ft LOVE letters in rustic or white finishes, rose walls, rustic frame with voiles, a rose arch, table centre pieces, post boxes, 7ft illuminated trees, mirrored welcome easel, candelabras, candy bar buffet and many other accessories are available.
  • Use of kitchen – For your chosen caterer or one from our trusted supplier list.
  • In-house Celebrant – For personalised, non-religious bespoke wedding ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, naming ceremonies and much more.
  • In-house resident Creche facility – To keep your younger guests entertained.
  • Wedding packages with the adjoining St Nicholas Church – For religious ceremonies and blessings
